Usage
The driver can be utilised by either direct control over the individual layouts and/or via presets.
If the driver is in a multiview layout then the driver will ignore switching commands from Director if a source is selected. This is so that you can control individual sources whilst it is in multiview mode.
You can select multiview layouts via the Multiview Control icon. From here you can select the layout, assign sources to windows and also select audio sources from inputs or windows. The driver will feed back what the current layout is and what the current source is for the window. It will automatically pull in the name of the bound source in Control4 as well. Note that there is no feedback for the audio source.
The 'Single View' experience button will always return the driver to a single view mode. When in single view mode the driver will send switch sources if Director sends a switching command.
Preset experience buttons will fire the preset command for that preset. This is a quick method to set a layout and will set the inputs for windows.
FAQ
What are the Requirements for this driver?
- Control4 OS 3.3.2
- Control4 HC-XXX Series controllers are not supported
Why is this product so exciting?
This product provides the ability to display up to 4 sources on a single display in Control4. Using this driver you can switch between layouts, select sources for individual windows and route audio with ease. Experience buttons provide quick one-touch preset recalls. Control over all sources is available at any time.
How does the driver work?
- If the layout is in single view mode then selection of sources via navigator will trigger a switch on the multiview
- If the layout is not in single view mode then selection of soruces via navigator will be ignored. This is so that you can still control the individual sources in navigator when it is in multiview mode.
- You can choose layouts via the 'Multiview Control' driver.
- You can assign inputs to individual windows via the 'Multiview Control' driver. The driver is smart enough to figure out how many windows there are via the current selected source. It will also provide the name of the bound device so the user does not have to remember which input goes to which source. If nothing is bound in Control4 it will simply display it as the input number.
- You can switch audio sources as well via the 'Multiview Control'.
- Presets are mapped to experience buttons. You can rename the experience button and assign it a layout icon via the driver's properties. This provides quick one touch control.
What hardware will this work on?
This driver is designed to work with the 4-Way Blustream MV41 Multiview HDMI Switcher.
